May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health is very important! Just like how we take care of our bodies to keep them strong and resilient, our minds also need TLC and healthy habits to stay strong. Everything from healthy coping mechanisms to having a robust self esteem are part of being mentally healthy.

SUMMER SCHOOL ENROLLMENT
Hazel Grove offers an extended summer learning program for all students. The program will run from June 6th through June 30th, with class time being offered Monday-Thursday’s each week.
All elementary students will have the opportunity to engage in fun literacy and math activities that reinforce grade-level skills ensuring that students are ready for the next grade level. Students will also participate in social-emotional learning activities that build self-esteem and confidence. Science, technology, engineering and project-based learning opportunities round out a fun, full day of learning along with integrated arts opportunities.
On April 14, parents can visit the office for support and assistance with the registration portal and summer school enrollment.
OR
If you’d like to do it yourself, these are the instructions for enrollment:
Log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal from your computer or phone app.
Once logged in, you will see your child/children listed in the parent portal. Choose your child and you will see their Summer Learning Invite. On this invite, you will see the assigned building for this child’s summer program. Most students will be attending their home school, but a few are different due to construction. Buses will be provided to get them to and from their location.
Please mark ACCEPT if your child will join us this year! Fill in additional items under ACCEPT if needed.
If this student has other plans for the summer, please choose DECLINE on their invite and submit. If you have more than one student, please open the invite for each student and let us know your plans. Doing this will allow the district to plan for the number of teachers, transportation, and meals that will be needed during Summer Learning. You will receive more details about Summer Learning, including bus routes and numbers in May.

BUS RIDER LANYARDS
Our transportation department has been hard at work preparing for a new technology to track and monitor students while on our buses.
After consulting with our team that has been organizing bus riders, we have come up with the following steps to try as our first support. We know this is a new routine and ask your patience and intentionality as we move forward.
Starting 10/19/21:
- Riders will be asked to have their card and scan it every time they plan to ride the bus.
- Students who misplace their card will need to notify transportation. (There will be a $20.00 lost card fee. Payment will have to be received by transportation or the school before a new card is issued.)
Let’s all help keep cards safe and ready!
